“In 10 sessions you will feel the difference,
in 20 you will see the difference and
in 30 you will have a whole new body.”
– Joseph Pilates
It seems every year is the opportunity to invite change into your life. It is often when we start new activities, or regimes that one feels a sense of revitalization and hope for meeting ones goals.
Joseph’s quote above is actually quite reserved in my opinion…the work is progressive and yet I often feel great after just getting to my own classes, to my mat, my reformer or out on the trails. Just showing up is the first step! Your immediate reward is how great your body feels just by moving!
Consistency is key, along with setting realistic goals, and most importantly in my opinion, being ‘ok’ with your start position will help with goal-setting and attaining your goals, whatever they may be!
So not only ‘being’ on your mat or reformer is key but ‘being’ present and open to the work is what will separate those from just showing up to those who show up and truly experience the most out of their practise.
But when it comes down to it, you know how great you feel when you just get to class and you did the work! Nothing feels better and to me feeling better is worth everything!
What I love about pilates and yoga is there is no finish-line you start where you are and you continue to grow within the work and enjoy the benefits.
