Meet Steph
Stephanie Roberts has studied and taught Pilates for 17 years and teaches her clients to build proprioceptive alignment finding the balance between stability and mobility for pain-free movement. Her Bachelor of Communications and Kinesiology from SFU has complimented her business acumen developed over many different marketing positions as she transitioned to owning her own business and running 2 studios over the past 14 years.
…I love pilates, and yoga, I love teaching and I’m excited to continue within my Deep Cove home space I opened 6 years ago, now offering group apparatus (machine) based pilates. Our approach is results-oriented and fun!
In 2003, I opened and ran a boutique studio in Edgemont Village for 14 years which was a wonderful experience and I’m still there once a week to continue teaching my clientele. Six years ago, I had the amazing opportunity to build a 2nd studio within my home in Deep Cove, meeting more wonderful clientele to teach. In 2013, I was fortunate enough to add various Instructor training courses for new and current pilates instructors with Anita Seiz, a valued colleague.
Initially STOTT certified, 5 years later Stephanie took Anita’s Seiz’s ‘Advances in Pilates Technique’, a teacher training program in Marie-José Blom-Lawrence’s style of Pilates training. (Long Beach Dance Conditioning). Stephanie completed her SOTT pilates mat, reformer and chair, cadillac and barrels certification in 2001. She completed her Yin Yoga certification with Bernie Clark in 2009. She completed her Thai Massage training with Gordon Waselnuk in 2009. www.corebody.ca.
Meet Shelley
Shelley Pendreigh is a Certified Pilates and Yoga Instructor and Registered Personal Trainer. To compliment her BSc in Kinesiology, she has undertaken specialized Pilates and Yoga training that keeps her up-to-date with industry best practices.
Shelley takes great pride in creating exercise sessions and sequences that offer a full body workout to leave people feeling stronger, longer, leaner and revitalized. She is passionate about helping people learn to connect to their bodies so that they can move with greater awareness and ease.
Shelley believes exercise not only benefits the body but the mind and heart too. She recognizes that a key component to slowing aging is to keep active. Shelley is happiest stretching on her mat or trekking through the north shore trails. She encourages everyone to “keep moving”!
Shelley took her Pilates Mat certification through Marta Hernadz, Physical Mind Instititue in 2012 and her Pilates Reformer + Cadillac Apparatus certification with CoreBody Pilates + Yoga Inc. in 2014.
She is a registered Pilates & Yoga instructor with the BCRPA and Yoga Alliance – RYT-200 and has recently completed her Yin training. Shelley continues her Pilates training with Balanced Body.
Meet Jennifer
Jennifer Jordan is a bodyworker, thai massage practitioner and a certified 500 hour yoga instructor including Yin and Restorative yoga. Jen believes deeply that one needs to restore as much as strengthen muscles therefore, she is excited to help blend both yoga with massage at CoreBody for 90 minutes of Bliss!
Meet Wendy
Wendy Lewis is a Certified Pilates Mat instructor, Reformer/Cadillac instructor as well as Hatha Yoga Instructor. She is also a Registered Personal Trainer. Wendy is always moving from biking to hiking and feels best when she’s in the woods or of course traveling. Her energy is contagious and her style of teaching is high energy and yet focused work!
